August 2010
In August 2010, the agency became WBE certified.

The mission of the PA Bureau of Minority and Women Business Opportunities (BMWBO) is to promote and facilitate the involvement of minority-owned and women-owned businesses in state purchasing.

Certification is a comprehensive process, which assures only qualified companies are approved. In addition to owning at least 51% of their companies, MBE and WBE owners must be U.S. citizens, have training or experience in their business fields, and have management and operational control of their companies.

July 2010
On July 24th and 25th, Team Teeter Group completed the MS - 150: Keystone Country Ride.

Riders traveled 150 miles on their bicycles from Altoona to State College and back in two days facing extreme heat and thunderstorms. Everyone made it safely, despite the distance and the weather.

Riders participate because living with Multiple Sclerosis is no easy task either. Sudden blurry vision, memory lapses, and not being able to walk are some of the symptoms. Our team helped to raise funds necessary to fund research for a cure and for programs to help those with MS. For the 2010 ride, Team Teeter has raised $9,431 for the MS Society. Great job to all Team Teeter Group riders! Thanks for your hard work and dedication to the cause!

The team would also like to thank our generous team sponsors: Selective Insurance; Eastern Alliance Insurance; Reed, Wertz & Roadman, Inc.; East Coast Risk Management; Blair Companies; Altoona Regional Health System; Clark Contractors, Inc.; The Hite Company; Patterson Pyle Oral Surgery Associates of Central PA, PC; and Bedford Ford.

Summer 2010
Teeter Group is again sponsoring a team for the annual MS: Keystone Country Ride. Riders will set out for a two-day bicycle ride over 150 miles from Altoona to State College.

Having multiple sclerosis means that you may suddenly have blurry vision, your memory may fail for no apparent reason, or you may not always be able to walk, let alone ride a bike. The symptoms of MS are different and devastating for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will use funds collected from the Bike MS; Keystone Country Ride to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today.

In 2009, Team Teeter Group raised over $10,000 for the cause.

December 2009
Teeter Staff participated in two local Secret Santa Projects. Rather than a traditional office gift exchange, we "adopted" a family through Family Services, Inc. of Altoona and sponsored several elderly residents through Home Instead Senior Care's Be a Santa to a Senior Program. Through Family Services, Inc., we were able to provide gifts and household necessities to a local family in need. With our thrifty Black Friday shopping, we were able to purchase even more gifts than expected! We also partnered with Home Instead Senior Care and donated fleece blankets, body wash, cologne, slippers, and candy for area seniors to help bring a little holiday cheer to their day.

Everyone knows that unmanaged work comp claims often turn into stressful, difficult, and costly situations for employers. In an effort to make workers' compensation claims management easier, Teeter Group has partnered with East Coast Risk Management (ECRM) to provide a new way to manage work comp claims from start to finish.

East Coast has developed a process to work with employers, injured employees, insurance carriers, and our agency to manage claims. Insurance adjustors often handle heavy case loads and your claim does not always take first priority. ECRM has experienced claims adjustors on staff ready to work with you to gain positive results for everyone involved.
